    Elk...it's what's for supper.

This post is just for fun. No bad buyers, no talk of CRTs, no goats.

Whelp, somehow I find my self in northern North Dakota. Doing some non-scrap related work for a non-profit here. (They are legit, no big salaries or shenanigans) they watch the bottom line pretty close, so I throw the camper on the back of the pickup instead of staying in a $100/night hotel. Find myself the nearest lake and suck down a few beers. Maybe drown a minnow.

Miraculously I have a decent internet connection through my iPhone.

Anyway here are some pics of the Elk burgers I cooked up tonight. My BIL is a big hunter and he gave me this elk from a Colorado hunting trip.

Fried the bread up first like a grilled cheese sandwich.

    Drool with envy fellow SMFers!!!

My buddy shot a nice bull out of the Black Hills years back. Gave me quite a bit of elk. Much better than deer in my opinion, closer to beef. One winter night (my grill at the old house and this one are on house gas so I tend to grill year round) had a nice thick roast that I seasoned heavily on the outside and then would go an turn it on the various sides about every 15 minutes. It ended up medium rare on the inside and nicely done with spices on the outside. Thought I had died and gone to heaven

Enjoy ND. Supposed to be 45 in Aberdeen on Monday. Might be nippier where you are now...

I got to try elk for the first time a few months ago, and it is extremely good. Someone sitting with me at the dinner said its like the cadillac of wild game meat
