Thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen this story!!
We had a 93 Buick Regal that the wife drove when we first had kids. When we decided to upgrade to a new Honda van (the only vehicle I've ever bought new), we placed an ad on a local tv station internet-based "auto mart". We ended up selling the car through a consignment dealership but I received at least 3 oversea offers over the next few months for that car. Some were probably scams where the "buyer" bounces a cashier's check or whatever and you're left holding the bag. And some may have been legit. Either way, I don't think a lot of Americans realize how many previously U.S. owned vehicles end up outside our borders.
So, my advice, especially to PU owners that have their business name on the side of the truck like this guy had, take off your identifying info. Or make the dealership take it off even if its costs you some bucks. I'm sure this guy wishes he would have done so...
