Memorial day

Memorial day has been little tough for me for nearly 50 years. For those of you that came home many of us know it was mostly luck and in some cases just the luck of the draw.

I would like to list my three friends I left behind and tell you I think of them often.

Thomas P. Smith my best buddy, who would have been president or at least a Senator of Michigan. Larry Mahon, of Texas who I probably owe my life more then once. (a snake eater in the first degree) 1965
Dewayne Pittman Shelby Iowa. A buffalo hunter (Slick door gunner) 1966. and last but never least my father SGT Robert William Wier (Bronz star, ww11) these and all those who gave all or left parts of themselves on battle fields and dirty ditches, deserts or jungles in far off lands. and to all the following.
