    Dumpster Dee, InjunJoe ?

was going through some old threads while the guys are unloading the trucks this am and came across some old ones by DD.

Does any one know what happened to her and Injun joe was another good poster. They dissipated about the same time. I know what the rumors were at the time but does any one really know. I miss them both. God bless them, where ever they are.

god bless them where ever thy are.

There's been a few that I have wondered what happened to-- Bear is another. CoreyCouch, Hoss, were all pretty interesting. FLimits was a fount of old computer knowlege.

I'm glad we have a few that came back after a fairly long disappearance--Alloy2, Eesakiwi. Noble Metal is back, although not so talkative. Same with Sir Scrapalot.

I guess everyone has their reasons--Life changes, gets in the way, ceases, you name it.

    Jon.

    Dumpster Dee, InjunJoe ?

I believe Cory got a job offer he could not refuse, and pops his head in when he can
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

Cory is alive an well, an still doing his cell phone towers, an touring the country eating awesome food. He came an said hello the other day to the Cooler Pullers. FL is missing in action since her move. Injunjoe...last I saw was on a vacation. No clue if that ever ended or not. Kiwi is always in an out. Reckon we'll see more of him as we get closer to fall. Lest thats when I see him post more often.

I'm still here, an active..I'm just usually off chatting with my Cooler Pullers. Many of us are still about..we're just off causing trouble in other parts of the forum, or don't have much to say on the public side.

Most of you know I'm always accessible via PM most of the time anyways. LOL.

    There you go..status updated.

Oh, sorry. I did stop scrapping for a while after I got my scrap sold early last December.
A cobber of mine came back from Aussie for 6 months early this January and a workmate of his turned up just afterwards. So we ended up spending/wasting a lot of time together. He had tenants that didn't pay their rent and he had a bit of work to do to his house too.

So he's back In Aussie now. I started scrapping again, got a car too. Still using free WiFi...

I do miss 'dopenscrapple' though. Someone said a not nice thing to him and I have not seen him since.

I'm also putting time into my house, the local council sent me a letter telling me to clean it up a bit, still scrapping metal though.

    ??

eesakiwi- You have to remember to "translate" for most (some?) of us in the States. I'm assuming a "cobber" is a "friend" and this guy was in Australia but then came back to NZ and you all hung out a lot, filling a lot of your time.

Do I have it about right?

Not Aussie, cobber! I know what an ''Aussie'' is but not what a ''cobber'' is!
Scrapper, Scrap Yard Worker, Horse farm worker, Cooler Puller and just plain ''tired''

Australian colloquialism meaning "mate" or "friend", but not necessarily in the literal term. Can be used to address a stranger in leiu of "Hey, you there!" or "Hey, kid!" in a more friendly manner. As the word's been used since the earliest Colonial settlements of Australia, many Aussies mistakenly believe the word is archaic and no-longer used. In actuality, it's simply slightly less understood then more generic forms of greeting (such as "mate").
    "G'day, cobber."
    "G'day, mate. How're ye doin'?"

    Urban Dictionary: Cobber

    Your welcome, cobber.

I guess people just drift away as the current of life moves them along.

A few of the more thoughtful souls here have posted that they were leaving or slowing down but most of those seem to be still here. And sadly, there are the few whose last posts were done by their loved ones, who explained that they moved on to a better place. (RIP, Mick)

I've realized I've done the same with a few forums I've followed quite closely in the past, moving on as my interests changed. A cool thing on a few of the forums is a feature you can select is that when someone posts to a thread you have started, you get an email. It does occasionally pull me back to comment on something that I posted a couple of years ago.

Hobo, did Bear say why he doesn't post on SMF any more? Just not into the scrap as much as in the past?

    Jon.
