    no internet service

hard as this is im going to try to muddle through it , we have an ATT broad band because it is supposed to be the most reliable I am leaving this unedited for a reason, please bear with me and excuse me.

we have paid as much as $240 for this "reliable service and between 4:30 and 10, i'm lucky if the net is up 50% of that time. half the time the Netscape logo is up telling me there is a problem with the servers.

there is and that problem is they dont have enough band width or servers to handle their over sold customer base.

I have Charter and love it.
There can be up to 6 people on our wireless watching movies and playing games with no issues.
I've had crappy internet in the past and it sucks.

I was being funny, not criticizing. Clearly he was having problems. It was definitely not a spelling nazi correction of "their" and "they're."

CenturyLink won't quit harassing a family member since her office switched. She was fine with their service, but after all the calls, we won't use them again! We have a local company that does a very good job. Both of our offices are served by them.

Jimi...I like you but this has to be the funniest thing I've ever read...

I have Charter and love it.

I have Charter, an the words I'd use to describe their service would not have Love it in it. LOL It'd have me on a nice long vacation. Sadly I got no choice but to use them. They are consistently one of the most hated Cable/internet providers..right after Comcast an Time Warner last I read.

Effin' Charter...Gah. Pardon me I need to go curse up a storm somewhere I can't be overherd. LOL

Edit: I should add, that it's their customer service that irritates me. The service is somewhat ok but if you have to call into them I hope you have the patience of a saint, cause they will test it with the stupidity you run into. Most cable companies are like this tho, so their not that unique! Lol.

Sirscrapalot - Serious about his views on Charter, but glad someone likes them.

I'm very reliant on the internet being available both at home and work. I use ATT U-verse and am quite pleased with the service in my area. However, I never put all my eggs in one basket. I can't afford for it to be down, so I have a router at home and at work set up to use a cell phone as a hot spot if things go down.

I used to use comcast, and have the cheapest att dsl plan on standby if needed.

    Do U have AT&T U-Verse ?
Are you hard-wired or Wi-Fi ? If Wi-Fi only, try to hardwiring from modem/router to one PC.
Have you re-booted the modem/router recently ? Turn off all PCs. Pull the wall power brick from the wall. Wait a few minutes, plug power to the modem/router back in the wall, wait for all the lights to sync, then boot up one pc, check your up and down load speeds with Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

If all else fails, call ATT support, just keep yelling "Agent, agent" when the "canned" message starts. You'll eventually get a low level support agent, who should be able to test your line from the central office to the outside NID (Network Interface Device)
