About as Quality Family as it's going to get - actually got a real tree this year and put up i/o lights on the porch. Want to wish you and everyone on the board a Merry Christmas and a happy 2016. It's this time of the year that I reflect back on 2015 and realize all the things I'm thankful for: living in a state that's both good and bad for you, having a loving wife, having in-law relatives that are more stubborn then you are but will be there for you in the end, a roof over my head, food/water/verizon, and a forum of people from around the world that share a common goal and won't give up on you no matter how stubborn you are(or become).

Christmas time use to not cary alot of weight with me. Something would always go wrong and would end with me being depressed and the rest of the house either mad at each other or not caring to begin with. I'm not sure what changed but in the turmoil of things going on outside the house this Christmas feels different... It's hard to explain the feeling.

Sorry to hijack, wanted to share since this was the only thread on Christmas.

That is a good light show. To make it great you need one inch snow flakes without wind. Unless you have experienced it, you cannot imagine the reflection of Christmas Lights off of six inches of snow on the ground in the mountains and snow falling straight down to the point it piles up six inches on top of a car antenna. It does not matter what the temperature is, because I will be in front of a roaring fireplace with my family watching the lights and snow through the picture window. Our cabin in Wyoming provides this experience more often than not. This year we have the added bonus of a full moon on Christmas. What better way to celebrate our savior's birthday? You can select your own savior. Just my two bits worth which is only worth two cents in this economy. These experiences are priceless. We hope to pass these traditions on to future generations. With these memories, I am not interested in the politically correct terms for this holiday. Merry Christmas to all and may your memories be as strong as mine.
Give back more to this world than we take.

I will take 20 degrees and cold beer in the mountains at Christmas over your Rum on the beach and 70 degrees. Now in March, I would have to agree with you. By then the cold and snow has over stayed their welcome.

I'd take snow in the negs over sunny beaches any day - if i want heat, i'll turn up the thermostat. Favorite Christmas movie's The Grinch(the cartoon one, the good one - not the live action bs they put out).

There's a reason for the season and how the old legends came to be.

The turning point is coming up in a few days ...... Gimmee some son !

I'm so tired of going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.

I'd like to wish everyone here at SMF a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Going to be a special one here. New baby and mom are coming home from the hospital today.

We will be celebrating the 24th, 25th and traveling to Fargo the 26th. Hopefully travel weather is ok. Just had a blizzard come through the region this week. Freezing drizzle, then snow, then wind and cold. Colder than a witch's tit right now.

So far been a mild winter here other than a couple snow storms. El Niņo I think they call it. The lakes around here aren't even frozen over yet which is very unusual. Kinda sucks because can't go ice fishing. A few people have tried, and end up needing rescued by airboats. Dummies.

Everyone please stay safe with your travels!
