I'm so tired of going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.
As a wrestling coach and educator for 30 years, I did not know the sun existed between November and February. Now that I am retired, work does not start until the sun comes up and it ends when the Christmas lights come on (timer). They are such a welcome site to a cold body that relishes the beauty of lights and more importantly a hot shower and a cold beer.
Give back more to this world than we take.

Very warm in Western Australia so envy those pretty Northern hemisphere white winters, at least at Christmas. Peace and good will to all of you at the feast of the coming of the Christ Child!

We will be celebrating the 24th, 25th and traveling to Fargo the 26th. Hopefully travel weather is ok. Just had a blizzard come through the region this week. Freezing drizzle, then snow, then wind and cold. Colder than a witch's tit right now.

So far been a mild winter here other than a couple snow storms. El Niņo I think they call it. The lakes around here aren't even frozen over yet which is very unusual. Kinda sucks because can't go ice fishing. A few people have tried, and end up needing rescued by airboats. Dummies.

Everyone please stay safe with your travels!
Congratulations on the new addition to the scrapping family!

More of the white stuff out front the house couple years back
Let's see 2015 almost got shot on the job, surrounded by junkies downtown after 15 hour shift, took active shooter training Dec 2 (Run Hide or Fight) same time San Bernadino was happening.
I'm still here and I'm not afraid I'll fight. The World's a different place I'm adjusting

It's hard to explain but i sort of live by the seasons. Kinda old skool. ( Lol ....like really really old skool. ) The high point of the holiday season for me is when the days start to get longer. It's a simple celebration where we enjoy a meal together. Some folks like to make a big production out of it with the Yule rituals and legends of olde but it all seems a bit much to me. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

Each celebrates " The Dawning of the Light " in their own way.
