    I had the same thought ... Why would you? There is no way they would get a gold ring from me.

    If it truly was Mom's last wish, then bravo to them for fulfilling that wish.

    Every non-profit has expenses that are paid for by donations. That is just how they survive,

    Also, every organization that large is liable to have opportunists among it's ranks.

    I personally don't support the Salvation Army because they have a history of discrimination that truly bothers me.
