More than Scrap Value Shipment Tips: http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap...tml#post242349
A criteria for a Hall of Fame is usually along lines of length of involvement, meaningful contribution, demonstrates desire to be part of, helpful to others and yes popularity is legitimate criteria. I'm just putting it out there Hall of Fames have a criteria "list", that gives the members of that distinguished list, a purpose to be listed and distinguishes those we want to honor.
We all liked him or her, could be they just made us laugh when we needed to laugh. All as good as any criteria, so is leadership, dedication as well as "We want to honor a member because of his/her overall significant contribution or to a particular scrap subject. My point, a Hall of Fame needs to have a criteria for eligibility and a method for all members to participate in selecting "Hall of Fame" members.
I know we are just informally suggesting names of members now, because that's how it all starts, with a conversation. I would like to also include these members for nomination: Happyscrapper, Sawmill, NobalMetalWorks, Junkfreak, Logansrecycles, ryanw, Hypoman and pjost.
I have learned so much from so many members, I have been having a hard time deciding "who has taught or shared the most". A big thank you to everyone!

That's the issue tho...lots of folks..meet the requirements.
Here's another name from me, who is entirely to humble about his own contributions...BigBurt.
I think it says something great about our little forum here, that we have so many people folks feel are worthy of such a place.
We have a lot of awesomeness here, an it all comes in many forms.
Sirscrapalot - All your coolers belong to us.
For me this forum provides me and allows me access to information, a chance to openly discuss with members, on subjects so diverse I otherwise don't know where I would get those opportunities in my world. There are subjects that I can't really talk to family, my secretary, friends or employees. I for example have a really good understanding of electronics. I haven't worked on anything in that field since the mid 90's. This forum has peaked my interest in that again. Surprising even me how much I'm starting to recall again, I was pretty week on computers though, I can tell you about much more complex systems then a home computer. I just never took the time to dive into them. Been using computers for work and school for over 35 years easy. With the background a lot of members here have and by me just following those discussions. I have started trying to build one from just all of the computer parts I now have, Would have never thought to do that before, now I do so I can and know more on that subject.
Every member here brings something to the table, and that diverse pool of experts, helps all of us better our lives and those around us. In the construction/landscape business, I have owners of other construction/landscape companies I talk to, but it's a guarded conversation. We each would use to our advantage any slip of information we could to weaken a competitor for our own gain (trust me). Don't have that same problem here. Tomorrow I'm meeting with the owner and managers of a Drive Inn movie chain. To look at the possible opportunities of my companies taking over their property management and upgrade their facilities. One of their largest expenses is their waste and a law that requires them to divert a percentage each year away from landfill, into a recycling program until they achieve 90% recycling. They will be out of business if they don't comply and they don't know how to. Thanks to this forum and it's members I have some pretty good ideas! I was surprised to learn that Drive Inn theaters still exist, they have eight of them in Southern Cal. Most of their revenue is not in the movies that they show every night, but in the swap meets they operate six days a week. The swap meets is also the generator of the waste, that swap meet waste is everything you can imagine. Just the cardboard is potentially 2+ tons per day! Now I have shared more than maybe I should even here, but I'm OK with that. Would't dream of even talking to my secretary about the outcome of that meeting, but I know I can share some info with my SMF friends (just a little/never all).
To me everyone here is a Hall of Famer, as I have learned so much thanks to all of you!
I saw my name somewhere on the list....ill pass on the hall of fame but I nominate my truck....pics to come...lol

That was me.
Like Mike...not for me but again I agree on all the others an I'm sure more to come.
Sirscrapalot - Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos...are good. I have spoken.
It's been mentioned before but...above all others, Mech an Mick should be the first to receive such an honor. Like most of us they would downplay their contributions, but we all know better.
Wise, funny, ability to rule with an iron fist while making you think you were getting a hug, knowledgeable in just about every topic we touch on here. Not only did they share their knowledge an wisdom freely, but they welcomed all of us as students, teachers, friends..and yes..even family.
I say such an honor is not for me, because of folks like them. They have offered more in the ways of information, advice, knowledge, rebukes, lessons, humor, then I could ever hope to match. Some lights shine bright...and some shine even brighter to cast it's glow an make everyone who comes into it better. These two meet that critiera. Agree or not, but these two are should not only be in such a hall, but they should be Standard for which all others are held to join said hall.
Mick you are looking over us I know this. Mech even now you are thinking of us, when you should be focusing on you an yours and getting better. Really is nothing else left to say but...Thank you, for everything.
Now pardon me, I need to go have a cold beverage for two friends who I've never met, but will always have a place at my cooler.
Sirscrapalot - for once I have no quote.
