    Hypothetical $10,000 Question

I was reading a similar post on a different forum and found it quite fascinating. So, time for a little creative thinking. Wondering if maybe it can generate a bit of motivation too.

If you had to come up with $10,000 in the next sixty days, how would you do it?

    • Nothing Illegal
    • You can't sell your own body parts
    • Nothing unreliable like gambling

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Sell a car (In my case two). I'd still be able to drive the my old truck if I had to.

Get a second job (I'm self employed, so a regular job in addition to what I already do).

Sell my two computers (Worth about $500 combined)

And, go after anyone who owes me money!

Sell some of my computer collection, my old 81 vette, liquidate some gold, cash in part of my Roth IRA, etc would work (assuming its life and death for the cash).

Selling your 81 Vette sounds pretty serious. I guess I should have expected that selling cars would be a top response (especially in a scrap metal forum).
If I sold my vehicle there would be none. Of course I don't need the money though. Getting to $10K is a pretty lofty goal, but I'd love to hear some other ideas. It isn't easy getting there with e-waste with the prices the way that they are. I mean, who has 862 pounds of RAM lying around? LOL ... Hard drives maybe.

after selling your stuff...well 60 days isn't a lot of time (for things like internet marketing)...you almost have to figure out a gofundme or similar...as distasteful as that might be. Then again, I HAVE seen people make and PRESELL products (ie they are building them for delivery in 30 days or whatever) AND I have seen people write stuff and sell it online making a fair amount of money. The issue is you have to KNOW how to do the latter...not a skillset you have lying around.

There is also PROPSER.com...a hybrid microlending site....it would be a LOAN and they do look at credit, but it might be something that could work too.
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell

A corvette isn't a daily driver, more like a toy (one that old anyway).

These days people probably have credit cards with limits of $10k or more, so you could charge that kind of money if you had to. There are also title loan places that give up to $10K I think. If your young enough and a good shot you can make $10K a month as a soldier of fortune or tech in the middle east easy enough.

Question is how bad would you need the money and how much interest would you be willing to pay back.

I would first break it down to smaller manageable pieces and do some math. $10,000 is only 100 $100 bills. 100 $100 bills divided by 60 days is basically 1.67 $100 bills per day or $167. Then considering a worse case scenario of 18 hour workdays, we're down to $9.28 an hour (for 1080 hours). 1000 $10 bills is $10,000.

Now if we jump to $20's we're down to 500. It doesn't have to be hours, how about items or a mix.

A million is only a thousand thousands or a hundred ten thousands.
