The most money out of a dryer dismantle.

I was wondering what's the most money, coins that is, you ever got out of a dryer? I took one apart this week and got a couple of dozen coins totaling up to $2.10.

Well, Not a dryer but probably worth the share. I busted open a old vending machine and got over $26 in change out of it, and I only had to pay $5 for it

Over $20.00 in paper money and some change. It was my dryer that I dismantled so really I just got my money back. Mike

The most money out of a dryer dismantle.

I think my best was around 15.00. I just got one last week that was rattling so much I wanted to open it like an Xmas present. 8 and change. about double what I got for it as shred.

That's funny the change was worth more than the shred. Now all you have to do is start charging for hauling off the dryers and you will be back to what you could get for shred 2-3 yrs ago. Mike

Was offered a dryer out of an apartment building. Said yeah sure put it over there. Left it for a couple days and then was going to tear it apart. Had one of those coin slots in it and I heard some noise. broke it down and got a total of $76 worth of quarters. I knew the guy pretty well so I told him what I found. He said good deal, you take half and I'll take half. Sure was better than the price of scrap.

Good move. That's how you get him to call you for a scrap pickup in the future. A little bit goes a long way..

Years ago when I worked in a scrap yard, a guy brought in 10 commercial dryers, he got about $125 for them, after he left we busted them open and found over $150 in quarters, he came back later in the day and saw we had busted them open, "I have the keys" he said, but he never bothered to check.

Don't forget to check those discarded appliances from coins and jewellery.
