Experienced Scrapper
Would any of you have a clue what this is. I got a box of items from an auction and this was in it. Have no clue what it is or what it could be called. Looks like it could be worth more that scrap if I knew the name.

I'm expecting it's some sort of 'air flow meter'. Its similar (but a lot bigger!) to what I see in car manifolds/intake systems.
If it is, its also possible that the wire/ribbon in the centre, may be, platinum, maybe. Just maybe....
They heat up that wire with electricity, the air rushing past it cools it down, this gives it a certain resistance and that's measurable to a electrical gauge, they jiggle the two valves to set the amount of air they want going past it.

It's a sight tube off an alien spacecraft...............Well maybe not, but it's not from any milking machine that I've seen. Looks like high grade nonmagnetic stainless steel. It has a sticker on it; does it indicate a manufacturer or any other info that might be useful ?

Looks like a well preserved antique thingamajig, a very rare find.
What does the sticker say? Is there anything inscribed on any of it? Might be part of something from a laboratory. I used to get some similar items from a guy that buys from government auctions. Mike

The sticker just had info on the auction. Nothing that helps identify it. It came with these items in the auction box.

Does it say "Millipore" on the side??
Looks like a lot of machining went into it...

The millipore name helps. It could be part of a water filtration unit. All of the bolt holes around the flanges would make you think that it's intended for high pressure.The different inlet ports could be for metering and chemical injection.
I think the company was bought out by Merk sometime around 2010 ?

High pressure gas filtration system for medical use. I believe its for oxygen supply and it even looks like you have a picture of the outlet manifold too. I'm not completely up and up on how it works but the filters capture virus size microbes and can be cleaned same way surgical instruments are. I imagine that because the filter mesh size is so infinitesimally small that the pressure MUST be high to push the gas through the filter. It is missing some pieces...the entire high pressure side is missing unless you just didn't take pictures of it. Also the instrumentation is missing, there should be differential pressure gauges to determine when a filter needs to be changed, or at least a transducer. Are there more parts?

In the photo I can see that it says "250 PSI" plus it appears that there is a part number on it. Check out the part number. MIke

Worse case...send the photos to their customer service, and..I know this is a shot in the dark an crazy, but...ask.
I'd want to know for sure, unless your going to just scrap it...but I'd still want to know what it was though. lol.
