    Mechanic Has Left Us

Hello this is Trudy, Mechanic's wife. With a heavy heart, I have to tell you that Mechanic passed away this past Sunday in the hospital in Ft. Wayne. He had been in & out of there the whole month with pneumonia, but was going to be released to come home on the 4th....his heart stopped about noon Sunday. They coded & brought him back only to lose him again about an hour or so later. I wanted to thank all of you for letting him be part of your lives. This forum was every thing to him. He spent countless hours on here, and always felt wanted and respected, and he really valued his friendships with many of you.You truly are an amazing bunch of people - again thank you. His funeral is this Sat July 9th at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580. 574-267-3104. The viewing is 9am to 11am and the funeral is at 11am. Now I have to do the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. It would be alot easier if he had life insurancem but we do what we have to do. Again, thanks for the friendships. Sometimes, they were the only things to help him through the day. Trudy Kimes, 5 EMS B73 Lane, Warsaw, IN 46580 574-834-4451

P.S. There is also an online guest book at Titus Funeral Home's website linked to his obituary if you would like to share any positive memories or funny stories with our family.

If you enjoy your freedom, thank a vet.

What a loss for all of us. Trudy, your husband was respected and admired on this forum. I know that I, among many, learned a great deal from his time spent here. Everyone that does a search in the future will still be able to reap his wisdom. I can only offer my condolences, and let you know that your husband was a good guy. I wish you the best.

Trudy: My condolences to you and your family.
I was lucky to have had the opportunity to meet Mike in person.. a rare occasion with an online forum.
I was unaware that he had to go back into the hospital.. once he "escaped" the VA here in Indy and headed north, he began posting on the forum again as if he was "as good as new"

I am so very sorry Trudy. You were married to a wonderful man! A man who shared his years of wisdom with complete strangers.. and made lifelong friends. He was held in the highest regard here, he was respected and he was loved! He will be missed tremendously!!

It's so sad to hear this. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Trudy. I've always considered Mike a friend from the few PM's we shared as he was always ready to help anyone. He will be truly missed here.

I too had the pleasure to meet Mike a couple of times. He talked to me like we were just long separated friends picking up where we left off. I am sorry for your loss of a great guy, husband, friend and soldier. Rest in Peace Mike.

I am so grateful for Mike's contributions to the forum on a nearly daily basis. His ability to give links to threads seemingly just off the cuff has been amazing. He has been extremely generous with his time and knowledge.

My thoughts are with his family. 73 forever, Mike

My eyes welled up with tears when I read this. The wife asked what was wrong and all I could say was "the main man on the forum passed away." I had never met Mike, only Private messaged a few times. He had a huge impact on thousands here on the forum.

Trudy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this very difficult time. Yesterday evening was very sad on so many levels.

Looking forward to meeting Mike in the next life.
