    It gets complicated with a pc because the most popular browsers tie in directly with how the operating system works. Ubantu works differently in the way it does it's record keeping.

    I work with a lot of different windows operating systems on a regular basis. Some folks are of the opinion the Win 10 is really something special but so far i'm just not seeing it. It reminds me more of win 3.1, Vista, and 8.0. It seems like there are a lot of problems that have to be sorted through to make it work right.

    To be completely honest though .... i just don't trust Russian or Chinese software. It's safe to assume that all browsers gather metadata and feed that back to a centralized server somewhere. We know that there's money in collecting that data and selling it to third parties. I feel that i would trust Microsoft ( American founded ) to distribute that info in a way that doesn't run counter to American interests.

    I'm not so sure i would trust an unknown Russian entity with that info. The cold war is over, but we aren't getting along all with the Russians these days.

    Not getting along with the Russians, yes I have noticed that in the News Putin suspends weapons grade plutonium deal with US. Have you forgotten so soon who gave Russia control of the North American uranium supply. putin: Putin suspends weapons-grade plutonium deal with US - Times of India

    The one I’ve always considered most disturbing involves the Russians gaining control over a large share of America’s uranium

    You can only keep your head burried in the sand so long before you have to come up for air.

    * Confused *

    I can't seem to make the connection between this and a web browser.

    I suppose you could find fault with both sides but what it all comes down to is that we're all bad guys. It's a jungle out there. It's always been that way from day one. You gotta do what you gotta do. It's nothing personal when the other guy does what he does to further his own self interest.

    How is this burying one's head in the sand ?
