Woman dies stealing from donation bin

1st time I have ever heard of this. Many stories about thieves getting killed steeling metals... Her arms stuck in a clothing donation bin, she hung through the cold night and died And it had to be a painful way to go

Not the first time I've heard of it.

My guess is about one a year.

We junkers are a different bunch.

But seriously, that is sad that some people will go that far for so little.

    Scrap safely everyone.

I always keep a way to contact someone should something ever go wrong when I am out scrapping. I dumpster dive often and I turn on Siri's "Hey Siri" function so if I get in trouble, I can call for help. Normally I have that off since people love to prank with it, but I turn it on only when I am out and about dumpster diving. This is truly sad. My condolences for her family and friends.

From another news story the woman was standing on a stool that collapsed from under leaving here arms trapped.

IMO, the theft proof door on the clothing bin acted like a Chinese finger as it were intended as for the stool don't trust anything made in China. Whenever I go dumpster diving the wife always insists on accompanying me, makes for a cheap night of entertainment.

    True!
She probably had some bank though from re-selling all her stolen donation box prizes.
When I was in High School I worked at a Drug Store, the parking lot had a Salvation Army Box for donations in it.
The lady across the street would go to the box, bring a step ladder and get her probably 3 to 4 year old grandson inside the box and have him throw out donations.
She would then run garage sales in her yard- selling the stolen stuff- All TAX FREE.
    Made me sick!
