Ended up with a Ford Ranger, four banger with a five speed transmission for the year and mileage runs great.

Sticking around for the property tax sale in Manitoba going to place a bid on the old insurance building in Oakburn, wish me luck. This will be a place to hang my hat giving me freedom from the woman.

Ranger stolen, vehicles around here that are eventually found are burnt out hulks.

What really dissed me my wallet was in the truck, - I'm going to miss my debit card.

If sympathy brings back my Ranger, lay it on - otherwise none needed.

Probably because the keys were in it

I'm surrounded by three Indian reservations and our house is located at the intersection of two major highways, major in Manitoba means their paved with little traffic. Stole the truck at 1:30 am from right in front of my shop while I was in the front room on the computer.

Half deaf, heard nothing but Pat came down and asked if I was outside then we stepped out onto the porch. Truck was gone.

They had been into Pats truck but she's a bit smarter than I and never leave her keys in the truck, I on the other hand lose keys, wallets and Bic lighters.

More than likely kids from the Res the village is under siege constantly, thought we lived far enough out not to be bothered. When we moved to Rossburn left the house and shop unlocked for over a year and no one bothered trashing it or stealing the few items we had left behind.

Truck came from and was registered from Saskatchewan out 6 months insurance on it that was about to expire, truck wouldn't have passed a Manitoba safety. So it's basically a scrapper when the insurance ran out at the end of this month, they could have at least left me the bell housing for the Kubota diesel, wallet and the Garmin GPS.

The Russian Red a hard neck is doing really well, the music not going to get any product from that planting.

I cut the scape's from the Russian last week, these can be used for cooking just as you would use the cloves or eat them as greens. I'm not a garlic lover so I gave the scape's away to Rob and his brothers and a cousin at the farm and two neighbors..

Looking at the crop this afternoon looks like it will be harvest time in another week or so, probably end up giving most of it away and have no plans to replant in the fall unless I can get that Simplicity tractor completed.

I will post about the tractor disasters later on in the Satoh thread.

Police came to the house and informed me the Ranger has been impounded and hat I can pick it up Monday, phoned the impound yard they want $220.00 to release the truck.

After doing some research found out that I live in one pf the three provinces that lets the victim sue the parents for a juvenile's crimes, replacing identification, obtaining proof of ownership to the truck, stolen GPS and the tow bill are valid loses. Havent seen of there is any body or mechanical damage yet.

If the police ever figure out who stole the truck I'm going after the parents civilly for my lose plus encourage my neighbors to do the same. Even if we never receive a dime in restitution the message sent out to the parents will speak volumes.

I doubt my chicken chit neighbors would take anyone to court to recover damages so I'm going to have some posters made up stating the statue where it says parents are liable for their children's crimes.

The posters are likely the most you can do. Unless you prevail in court then you could post the results.

I don't doubt that you are on the hook for transport and storage but why the hell couldn't the cops just ask you to pick it up?? 73, Mike

PS back on the air for my first contact in about 6 years. My cw was shaky but made it through a complete qso. bye bye, Mike

Truck was found ion the Indian Reservation, I have insurance from another province that automatically includes theft with $700.00 deductible. Every insured vehicle in Sask has theft coverage regardless some owners may pay for a better deductible. But for a 1200 dollar beater not going to happen.

Any how the cop knew the truck was insured from Sask and about the theft policy, he told mer that I could claim on my insurance policy and I told him that this was not going to happen as my insurance would go up. It was at this moment that the thought came to me that I should sue the thief or parents civilly.

The good news they did not burn the truck, have to wait and see if it's mechanically sound, hopefully my Kubota bell housing and a few other parts are still in the box. Those parts are worth more to me than the truck.

Mike when I went after my Ham radio license I had something entirely different in mind than chatting over the airwaves, I was mainly interested in digital data. Just another of my great ideas sleeping, At the time when I got my ham license the idea was solid and could have made some serious money had I proceeded.

Accessing the Internet with total mobility would have been a wet dream come true.

Truck is back in my possession, some damage to the drives front fender, I'll live with a lot better that the sorry ass mothers who stole the truck. .

A $1200.00 Ranger stolen by some juvenile delinquent who decides to go joy rinding then destroying 250 acres of canola with a value of $500,000.00 dollars. My troubles are small in comparison.

That's canola flowers smeared on the front of the Ranger.

It's unbelievable how people think these days. They could care less about anyone but themselves. Laws allow them to go free without compensating those they injured. Lay a finger on them and you go to jail. Totally backwards. But if you stole their iphone, they would want you to get 20 years to life LOL. Glad you got it back anyways.
