Did a little digging just now and some research. That guy posting the ads, same guy that i talked too, is the brother of "Andys Second Hand Crap". "Andy" was run off craigslist due to his spamming, so they had to stop using his name, now they use his brothers, manuel.

    Hmmmmmmm

Hoss, if you would have his email address or a way to send him something, make it this, he'll get the point. I kept this around for my "good" friends. Sorry to anyone who gets offended easily,,

Try misdirection. Do what I do on occasion when this gets to be a pain. Call the guy up from a friend's phone or pay phone and give him directions to a scrap heap or a supposed scrap heap a good 50 miles out of town way out in a dense rural area. Basically send him on a wild goose chase a couple times a week. While this seems awful, it does generate results. Specifically I know my town dumps most dumpsters on tuesdays and thursdays and I have 2 other trucks of scrappers whom compete with me and who occasionally post on CL with their numbers. Now if it's an event week and there's a lot of aluminum cans or a lot of spring cleaning and remodeling going on that week, well these guys may get calls from a man doing a major renovation 50 miles away with a bunch of cars that need to be towed from an abandoned property or what have you. Shady yes. Does it work? Yes.

There's also what I call "The Stakeout"... When you come across some nice non-ferrous metal... Stop somewhere semi-public in a residential area and take a picture of your nice non-ferrous haul there. Then post that pic you took on CL under a false free scrap and then sit for a few hours and see who comes by looking for the scrap from your fake CL ad. Now you know whom you're competition is.

Wow! What a crock. You can however be commended for taking the high road with this. Going down the wrong path with someone like this could only lead to disaster.

Not cool. Not cool at all. We really should be trying our best as a community to stop this type of garbage, not promote it.
