    No Good Explanation Needed?

So I didn't realize I could create havoc around here by claiming a post is in the wrong Thread, by telling the Admin that the Post is in the wrong Thread, and literally have it removed with no Explanation Needed...? Basically, anyone who is a member here can tell the Admin that a Post has been started in the wrong Thread and they will remove it with no questions asked, without researching or reviewing the offending Post, and just remove it and delete it....Case in point... I left a NEGATIVE REVIEW for one of the Buyers here @ Scrap Metal Forum. Another user comes along, tells the Admin my post is in the wrong Thread, which it wasn't, and Admin just deletes my post. That tells me that the Buyer who I left the Negative Review for could just basically tell the Admin that the Negative Review is posted in the wrong thread, and the Admin, without reviewing the post, just removes the Negative Review... Who wants to use the Buyers/Sellers sub-forum if no Negative Reviews are able to be posted? What kind of crap is that?

I am the one who WRONGLY identified his post as being on the wrong thread.

I reported the tread and then pm'd kane333 of what I had done(this was my second mistake). I should have pm'd kane333 first then he would have straightened me out and I would not have reported his post.

I then reported on that I had made the error of reporting it.

I pm'm kane333 of my actions and he responded that the post had been removed.

I opened a ticket immediately explaining my error to Admin and then received another pm from kane333 who stated he had opened a ticket.

All these actions took a about 30 minutes according to my pm record.

I made two real errors the first I should have pm'd kane333 before reporting the thread, second I should have paid closer attention to what I thought I saw.

We NEED the feedback from real users of our buyers. If all it takes is a quick report by one member without a review by someone else then that does not do service to the forum members who rely on the great buyers we have.

For my part I am sorry for my mistakes and taking away a very lengthy review of a buyer on the forum written by kane333 worked hard on it. Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked

Miked's admission to errors shows his Integrity. I can't say the same for the Admin who took my post down. I spent nearly 2 hours compiling the evidence since this has been an ongoing episode for the past 2+ months. For those who wish me to recompile the evidence against said Buyer, I hesitate to go through this again until I can get a guarantee by the Admin that my post WILL NOT be haphazardly brushed aside without some sort of review. I suspect the Admin had no problem deleting the post because that's simply a push of a button. On the other hand, the honorable thing to do which is to admit a mistake, I haven't heard a peep out of the Admin claiming any responsibility for that. To the Admin that just recklessly deleted my post, it's harder for you to admit you were wrong, isn't it? I'm still waiting for a response to my ticket....

Kane I don't know you from Adam but I did read the entire review as I frequent the buyers section.....The only problem I saw with your argument was that you signed off on the amount that they gave you.......As far as their service it seemed haphazard and not as smooth as advertised......I am not saying you are wrong in your review just that I see it from the business owners side as well........Either way I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors and hoping you can find a buyer you are comfortable with

And yes, Mikeinreco, everything was taken into consideration before taking the time to post the review. Although, my explanation for that was, (and a poor excuse it may be, in a few people's eyes,) is that I was in a rush to my next appointment and didn't have time to look the PO over thoroughly. It doesn't negate the fact that quite a few of the recycled items were priced less than HALF of what was advertised here at SMF. If a person advertises a price here at SMF, you would hold them to it, wouldn't you? It doesn't matter if I'm walking in off the street, or a lifelong member here at SMF.

    Or would it?

And that's what I want to make people aware of, that you will get paid less than half of the value, unless you claim online pricing, which IMO is bad practice, either way.

It also doesn't negate the fact, that the owner of said company promised he would correct the situation AFTER he found out I was and had been an SMF member for the past almost 5 years, then all of a sudden, his tone changed and I can actually show you the email where he promised me a check, AND the updated PO, to make up for the difference in the rip-off/robbery. That may sound harsh and unnecessary, but I'll stick to my guns....I was freaking robbed by this company.

His prices are out on the internet (outside of SMF) and to my knowledge are the same as shown on SMF.

I feel you on your post being deleted/lost/eaten/whatever. Perhaps you could redo it outside the forum an just copy/paste it? Saves it from being lost to the ether if it gets removed/lost/etc.

I don't pretend to know what happens on the otherside of this forum staff wise. Could be an auto system thing. Lots of forums use such features. Remove via auto, come back an manual review. I dunno.

An much respect to Mike for owning up. Rare thing these days, an he didn't have to. This is why this man always has a chair in the sun/shade waiting for him if he ever ventures up to my sandbar. An I agree..Kane if thats you in the avatar..I hope your on my side in the bar fight. HA!

Now then...what you all really read all this for..

That is me in the Avatar. I will probably go ahead and post something back on this Buyers Thread but it won't be as lengthy and I'll do it outside of Chrome so in case it does get taken down again, I'll be able to repost it without having to wait for the Admin to respond to a ticket. I have still yet to even hear from the Admin about this issue....are they always this slow? It doesn't matter. I've already had a few Private Messages asking me who the unscrupulous Buyer is.

Not even sure who is handling things now. Two of the original moderators have passed away.
