The birds sing differently, the leaves point down, and frogs start croaking. Usually the smell is the final indicator but this usually is only 5-10 minutes before the rain arrives.
July 3 we got 6in of rain in 8 hours add mountain terrain and a saturated ground (been raining just about everyday for almost 2 months) we lost a lot of our roads and bridges in town. My road is tore all up as it follows a brook for several miles.
Hope you get some rain out there... Although it will probably just turn to steam....

we get a few cicadas but nothing like back east they just tell you its hot outside! Wait till it rains lots of cool things come out!!!!!!
