    No it is not a thing. Its a reference to a large shell game. Making it look like something was manufactured in the US when it was not.

    When I was driving truck I would deliver various steel products. At one time I was to deliver some steel I beams to a customer and on the paper work it specified that the I beams could not come from the XYZ company. So I went to where the pick up was and saw that the I beams had tags noting they were manufactured by the XYZ company. The tags were removed prior to loading and the paperwork reflected it the I beams were manufactured by the RTS company.



    Same product but the paperwork lies. Mike
