Smart TV, Smart IPTV need good playlists

Ok so I cut the cord for my tv's at home, no cable and dropped Directv. The good news this gives me over $1500 of our money still in our pockets.

I started by purchasing a ROKU stick that plugs into one of the HDMI connectors on the back of the tv. I primarily use Netflix and Hulu but there are a lot of other apps available. Since I started this I'm not missing regular tv much and feel good about the change I've made.

So I purchased a new 55" LG UHD Smart tv. One of the apps is "Smart IPTV" which doesn't have any content but you can add external playlist links in the forum of URL's. So now I looking for good working playlist's to install into my app.

Anyone got a link to a good working playlist? Any thoughts on this subject? 73

No clue on a playlist other then for music.

BUT!

You mention netflix an Hulu. Are you doing Hulu plus? nice if you want your regular tv fix, as lots of shows end up on there in 24 hours or so. Amazon prime members get access to their movies, tv shows an music. So if your already a member, you got that, an if not..you now got a reason besides the 2 day shipping.

An if you knew all this...maybe someone else won't an it'll still be helpful.

I cut the cord long ago. I subscribe to netflix, Hulu +(for the wife), wwe network(I like my wrestling, don't judge!), amazon prime(10 bucks a month if you don't prepay the $99), HBO Go, an a couple others the wife uses. It's still cheaper then even no frill cable. At lest for me. Your Cable Bill May Vary.

An none of those above cost me much more then 9.99 a month. Maybe 11.99. lol. Still a far cry cheaper then 85.00 for basic cable, an ****ty customer service.

There's a ton of options out there tho, for just about every type of viewer.

Cable companies an Direct tv an Dish are feeling the pinch thats for sure.

Dear Cable, Directv and Dish...Karma is spelt HAHAHAHA! Payback for all the years of basically raping an pillaging peoples wallets.

EDIT - I Can also cancel any of those subscriptions with no issues. No contracts or lock ins.

Good luck in figuring out the playlist stuff. Only playlists I know of for tv are the ones I make for stuff I own.

HULU has a movie "Goats" you may like it.

Currently I have hulu that costs $12.81, Netflix 10.69 and Amazon Prime which is going to get dropped next month. I am going to consider the expanded HULU services which is about $40/ month. I don.t need what is on Amazon an its my most expensive service at this time.

One thing with ROKU is there are many apps for all the normal channels ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX etc etc but in order to use them you must have a cable, Directv, Dish provider. Also the apps are not the same as watching live tv but have many of the shows.

Hopefully someone has more experience and can point me in the right direction for a playlist for SMART IPTV. 73 Mike

I'm an oddball I guess. I have trouble finding anything to watch on netflix or hulu. Documentaries is where I usually end up, and even in that category they are both lacking.

Cord cutting is great as I have Netflix.......However I still find streaming live sports lacking compared to cable........For now I still have a small cable package as well as Netflix and hi-speed internet.........As far as a playlist could you expand because I have never heard of that

Only thing I miss about regular tv is as Mike with the crappy taste in football team said(Had to differentiate between you an Miked) live sports. Football an the like just isn't the same for me on a monitor, or phone or whatever. Far as the finding something to watch...I mainly keep my subscriptions to things like Netflix cause of my wife. I find things here an there. For example, I enjoy their marvel shows. It lets me catch up on shows on regular tv I may like but never watch when they come out. Sons of Anarchy, Arrow, walking dead, etc. Sure I may have to wait a season, but I get to watch them at leisure without resorting to downloading, or free sites.

An I understand cutting something if you dont' use it. Amazon Prime has few things I enjoy but not enough for me to have it just for that. I do like the music tho, an the benefits for me an my kindle are good, an the wife likes the shipping. So well spent for myself. Everyone will be different of course. Nothing wrong with that.

I know with roku you can subscribe to various "apps"/Channels. Which is cool, not forced to to have 250 channels an only watch 5. lol. Sling tv is another if I recall, been a bit. I'm also confused on the playlist. I only use them for stuff I own. TV shows an music mainly, not for a smart tv.
