Those sea containers appear to be aluminum insulated with foam which makes them float, the West Coast of Vancouver Island faces the open sea, a lot of junk ends up on its shores. When I discovered the shoreline riddled with beautiful logs wanted to get into log salvage but that was before a seasoned mariner educated me.
If I were to tackle the lost container project I would Marshall all the scrap into one location then have Amix bring a small barge, then ship the scrap by water directly to Oregon to be sold as aluminum shred.
FYI any yard with a shredder will gladly change the feedstock.
Back in the old days the steel mill had shipping zones, the further the scrap had to be shipped the mill would compensate on the cost from outer zones. Not sure if the practice is still in effect.
