    2018 an beyoooond!

    2018 is apon us.

Hard to believe it's been as long as it has been me being a member of this forum. I've learned a ton here over the years, and all anyone ever asked of me was a thanks, quotes, an more goats(Ok maybe Hobo is the only one who asked for more goats..). I've met some good folks, I've caused quite a bit of trouble here an there, an hopefully have helped others with my own experiences or at lest given them a laugh.

    So yea..point of the post.

My thanks for another awesome year folks. Thanks to your knowledge, desire to share that knowledge, bad jokes(ha!), an other assorted ways you all have helped me have another profitable year. I hope you all can say the same also. While I've had to say goodbye to a couple of family members this year, an even a couple of friends, there has been good to. We had a new puppy join us on 12.24. Seems Santa felt my wife should get the puppy she saw on the local SPCA site. Bought a new place, got rid of the other. So I've had some good to balance out that bad.

Once again, to the members and the awesome staff/owners we have (that keep this forum running smooth.). My thanks again for continuing to make this place what it is...the best **** scrapping forum on the internet. Oh an thanks, for helping me make my wallet fatter.

    Good bye 2017!

    Hello 2018!

Happy New Year SMF..from the staff to the members.

May you reach all the gooaaats you set.

You didn't really think I'd pass up the chance to post the first goat of the new year did you?

... So you do acknowledge it is a goat and not a puppy, is the wife onto you?...

A good year to you too, Sirscrapalot. May we all have a peaceful and prosperous 2018.

I'm glad sir started this thread. My 4-5 years if being a member of the forum, I have learned tons. The first time I came to this forum, I was looking for some other options to make money from scrap. I have always hauled ferrous and non ferrous to scrap yard by the truck loads, but never fooled with the e scrap. I started reading threads on here about all the money from escrap. I started digging back in older threads, learning from the veterans like sirscrapsalot, mech., and all the others( not that everyone else isn't important enough to list, but tbh, I can only think of the two off the top of my head). I have learned so much from you guys, and still learn new stuff every time I log on.
I have sold microwave and other appliance boards for reuse, sold computer boards and other high grade scrap to several different buyers, sent gold fingers and CPUs to refiners for PM recovery, sold colored glass from electron guns to a pipe maker. I could go on and on. None of this would be possible without this forum and the people that make it.

Hope everyone had a great year if scrapping in 2017, and hope that it's even a better year in 2018. Everyone be safe. Always remember, safety is the most important thing when it comes to scrapping. So many things can go wrong. We can catch a truck on fire with a torch and burn our house down before we know it!!!!

Happy scrapping 2018. Thanks again to everyone on this forum, both active and past members, who has shared their wisdom, knowledge, tricks and tips, and even screw-ups. That's how we learn. Let's make 2018 a year to remember.

And I forgot to mention the wisdom filled quotes from one of the veteran members, sometimes I go through and just read the quotes that sir has posted throughout the year. Happy scrapping everyone
