A Little Bit Closer To My Dream

I have a little bit of a twisted sense of humor and I have been dreaming about pulling a bit of a sick joke. I have been thinking it would be uproariously funny to pull a Halloween joke on the kids and parents who show up to the house looking for a TRICK, or a treat.



My idea is this: Take one of the microwaves I pick up for scrap and open it up and disconnect the coil and capacitor and magnetron, but leave the rest of the unit functional. Push the "1" button and the thing runs for a minute, "2", two minutes. Put a paper sign on the thing that says, "Push a number for minutes of fun!". When the number is pushed, the micro starts, the light comes on, the turntable spins, and on the turntable is either a small glass bowl with a goldfish in it or a hamster or gerbil that will run around the inside of the MW. My thought is the kids will laugh and the parents will be horrified. My dream would be to screw the door shut and disconnect the "Stop" button so it will have to time out to stop.

Well, I just picked up a curbco MW. I opened it up and disconnected the coil, capacitor and magnetron. Everything works.... lights, keypad, turntable, push the "1" and it runs for a minute. I would love to see some kid push the 6 button and a parent panicking trying to shut the dam thing off for six minutes to save a goldfish.

I hadn't thought of that! You have peeled another layer of enjoyment from the onion. I can't wait!
