Thank you.

Thank you.
I salute them! Thank you
Seemed like a good day to bump this thread.
Thanks again.
Happy Memorial Day my brothers in arms.
I was reminded of this day a week ago when the local radio stations started playing Memorial Day commercials. It sickens me to hear that crap, and they'll still be playing them next weekend. New pool? Gas grill? 3 day weekend so lets effing party!
I sit here typing this with tears in my eyes thinking about my father and my 8 uncles who served in WWII and Korea. They ALL made it back home alive. So many soldiers did not.
Memorial Day was never meant to be a happy day. Think about that before you wish someone a happy Memorial Day.
Times have changed Jim. There are very few people in the United States that carry the living memory of someone dear to them who was lost in a war.
We're so far removed from it ... we don't even know the difference anymore.
Volunteering to set out flags at a Veterans Cemetery and then attending their ceremony will remind you why we recognize and yes, celebrate Memorial Day. Taps played by bugles or bagpipes will bring goosebumps as the veterans return to earth to be recognized. It is our responsibility to share this sacrafice made by others to every future generation that may not have had to face the sacrafice that a family member made for their freedom.
Think illegal immagrants who have not sacraficed anything for entery into our country. Should they not reccognize the sacrafice many gave for their freedom.
This is not directed to Hills, but to the many that do not accept that Freedom is not free.
Give back more to this world than we take.
