What exercise is good for gaining weight?

I have been really skinny for a long time. Any suggestions?

12 ounce curls always seem to do the trick. They worked really well in my college years. Started sophomore year at 125 pounds, came home at Christmas at 165 pounds.

Carbs have the bane of my existence. I'm now on the Keto diet and have finally been able to cut out insulin injections and several of my diabetes medications.

Keto is a low card and high fat diet. If you are interested spend some time on youtube, I like Dr Eric Weston for education on Keto Diet.

So in answer to your question I recommend even skinny guys may want to look in to the Keto diet it is interesting. 73, Mike

Eat protein like it's going out of style, and get a job that involves heavy lifting all day long.
Bonus points if you can throw hay bails all day long like I did as a kid ...

Sausage biscuit and gravy. Throw on a supply of fried taters and you will have a good start for weight gain. Beer also seems to help. Gaining weight does not seem to be one of my difficulties. For a small fee, I will be your gainer trainer.

Is being skinny keeping you from doing things you would like to do? If not, don't worry about it, your metabolism will eventually slow down.

I have never met a female yet that thought they were to skinny. I am guessing male or one of the new politically correct sexes.

I agree with the free weights and whey protein. I spent about 6 months lifting 25lb dumbbells for about 15-20 mins a day only 3 days a week, taking a day off between or sometimes running 4 days a week in pairs. After 6 months I had put on about 20 lbs, and it really wasn't difficult at all.

Whatever you feel like doing, really. Once you figure out what actually makes the muscles grow you'll know what to do. The rebuilding of the muscle during the resting-phase (off days) is where your gains come in. The more you tear the muscle down the bigger the muscle will build back. Its the bodys way of recognizing a weakness and strengthening it to survive.

Or you could consume mass quantities of adult beverages.

    Protein. Protein. Protein.

do u just want to put on weight or build muscle?

i hear eating works wonders if u just want to put on weight
but muscle needs lots of squats, deadlifts, bench presses, clean & jerks and other compound movements together with more protein in your diet.
