Hills once agan, well said. Same to Auminer, T0oo, and others.

Gold is on the creep up. 10 year high/low is interesting...most of us remember 2011/2012 when gold took a hard hit, an it's finally recovering.

As other said, I'd either hold it, or if I had to sell I'd do As T said an sell it out in small amounts. Ebay, and other places, etc. Or try locally as Auminer mentioned. I once made a post on CL about something in regards to precious metals, an made a couple contacts I still use or keep in touch with today an that was a few years ago. You'll know if your dealing with someone who is more then just kicking tires/wasting time. The people who know what their doing will act like Auminer. Coin shops, jewelry makers, etc all keep an eye on CL just like some of us do, never know when a good deal is going to pop up, etc.

Oh an yards by me, I have no clue on. I'm in squirrel mode an hoarding away for the foreseeable future when it comes to things I take to the yard. Helps pass the time since everything is shut down on my sandbar. Those of you like me an making like a pack rat...remember time are tough finance wise for a lot of people on top of this virus. So remember to lock up the valuables an keep it to yourself. People do dumb **** when their scared.

Here's to high profit margins and a "normal" life once again.

thank you all for the advice. I'd rather not sell it if prices are low. but the jewelry shops ya'll mentioned might be something to look into. Its actually a 15 pound (as weighed out on the copper scale so +or- a pound or so) bar with 99.9Ag on it. I saw prices used to be up in the high $40/once range back a few years ago. that would have been sweet to turn this thing in then. I could probably buy land and open up my own shop if I had that kinda money. As for now I guess I'll just try and get enough welding jobs and hope I can save up enough to pay back the loan before the lender defaults it.

    Yes.

60 miles there abouts from me. South of Ocracoke according to my map.

Never been there that I'm aware of. It is part of my sandbar aka the OBX.

    Taking Survey or just curious?

Just wondering. I was trying to help an author of many books about the area get one particular book get turned into a movie.

He is a nice person but was looking for a movie company to throw easy money at it.

I told him I would act for free and help him do a movie budget but I can’t do everything myself.

The yards in SD and WY are open for the most part with a few exceptions. The exceptions are due more to financial reasons than the virus. The yards are using the time for repairs and maintenance because few are hauling. They want to keep their employees working and have instituted social distancing for employees and customers alike. Most that are still hauling need to for survival. The stereotype of scrappers here is that we haul a load in first thing in the morning and that is our money for the coffee shops and bars for the day. Some bars are still open in both states as our governors left it up to local communities to issue such orders.

Both states have a low number of cases (exception is the Smithfield processing plant in SD). Since this is an essential business in all states based on the information I have read, I do not think this is reflective of our states strategy for dealing with the Coronavirus.

I have a great deal of empathy for those restricted to an apartment in the big cities. My daily routine has not changed, we do not see a reduction in polluted skies, and our roads are just as busy as they were six months ago. The real change for us is only having one topic on the nightly news.
Give back more to this world than we take.
