Black Bear in my yard having a feast

After the bear left I went over to investigate and found a nest of angry ants. At first thought the bear was digging up my Jack Russell's grave.

My 13 year old jack is resting in that corner of the yard.

When i cut the lawn, blow it into windrows and by morning the bear has eaten the grass, the worse that's happened is that a bear entered my garage and tipped over a 45 gallon drum of waste restaurant cooking oil that I had filtered into an open top drum.

Quick trip to the farm for a truck load of sawdust from their mill to soak up the oil.

A regular visitor deserves a name. Have you named your friend?

All of the deer, elk, and moose around here (mountains of Wyoming) have names. Never had a regular bear hanging around. Neat.
Give back more to this world than we take.

if i had to name the bear not knowing if it were boy or girl, and I can tell ya now I'm not getting close enough to have a peek.

    I suppose Sue would work.

A couple of ways to determine from a distance, cubs should still be with their moms. Also if you see it urinate, middle of the body-male, back end of a bear-female. These days Sue would work because I do not know if bears have adopted the new human gender guidelines.

Couple of days ago was outdoors chatting with a neighbour in town and he's complaining about all the mosquitoes buzzing around him.

Told him that they liked either his soap or deodorant and that he should ditch it.

That's how my first wife found me.
