I'm not so sure about that. On the face of it ... the Chinese way of doing things looks strong. They responded with overwhelming force to crush dissent.
On a deeper level ... you come to understand that that is something authoritarians do in a moment of utter desperation. They come across as all big, bad, dirty, and mean but they don't endure because their societies are inherently unstable. The imposition of order is proportional to the escalation of dis-order.
It's kinda like a pressure cooker with a broken safety valve on top. The pressure just builds and builds until the whole thing blows up and you have to scrape dinner off the ceiling.
The root cause of our BLM protests is the use of excessive force employed by our law enforcement authorities. The imposition of their kind of order on the black community is resulting in an escalation of civil dis-order in some of our urban areas.
Fortunately, our society doesn't have a broken safety valve on our pressure cooker. Those people are free to protest and blow off a little steam.
Much as anything ... we just have to be brave, have faith in the American way of doing things, keep a cool head, and hold turn through the tough times.
It will all work itself out just the way it's supposed to.
