I'm pretty sure that to etch glass they use phosphoric acid, which can burn and also produces very toxic fumes. Is it something safe to do from home of small shop?
I've made the ferric chloride, the etching is a winter project. I want to replace the stick on plastic sheet on the dash of my small tractor with an etched stainless one. The plastic over the years has shrunk and peeled.
Having learned about etching how do you know that these brass tags are authentic, I think the Luth Carriage tag is a reproduction aka counterfeit.
The edges of the lettering are much to crisp.
