All I have are my dreams

I knew this guy that was a easy going guy as long as he wasn't drinking. He didn't drink all the time, but being part american indian he would get wild when he did drink.

But anywho, He was visiting with me at my yard inside one of his many old RV motorhomes that had seen their better days. He brought it to my place so I could fix a few things on it.

He and I were visiting and he was telling me about the old small boats he was buying. Mostly the aluminum ones that most others were scrapping.

I asked him what he was going to do with them. He said that he was going to fix them up (have others fix them for him) and sell them to dad's that wanted to take their sons fishing.

I told him that his plan wouldn't work as he would have a tough time finding any buyers that wanted to pay what he would want.

He saw the logic in what all I told him, he looked at me and said "all I have are my dreams".

He also had a few aluminum pontoon boats that most others were scrapping that he was going to build a BIG house boat and live on the Mississippi river earning a living as he traveled.

He was married 3 times. Twice to the same woman and he died married to his second or could that be third wife when he died of cancer.

He was a dreamer that couldn't get beyond his dreams.

I feel that there are many out there that are much the same.

Chasing the carrot at the end of the stick and so BU$Y doing that, that they ignore and just call crazy anyone that tries to get in their way with wisdom and truth.

What's worse, someone like your friend who still had dreams or someone who has no dreams...
Hopes and dreams have become foreign words to me...

Just as hard drink can cloud a persons reality is also true with the addiction for fantasy and fiction.

I found at a early age that this world and it's many were "backwards" with what they tried to believe.

Most all is a illusion that the many try and keep up with.

The "rich and famous" are that way because of the MANY that support them by trying to chase their not very well thought out plans.

Maybe this will help you to feel better if it makes you laugh, or at least think about laughing...

There are dreamers and there are doers Jim.

Dreamers dream but they never really accomplish anything. Making your dreams come true takes a lot of hard work. Most dreamers really aren't all that friendly with work. They just don't have it in em'.

Hopelessness ? That's something else. Maybe a touch of the blues ? It certainly would be understandable this time of the year. The shortest day of the year was about a week ago. Light conditions are low. Don't know about you .... but my instincts are telling me to find a warm place to hole up and go into hibernation till springtime. Not much motivated to do more than i really need to get by this time of year.

It will pass. It's like this every year after the holidays.
