When you are out picking up - whats your most fave thing to get?

Of course i love all things metal/scrapable but my most fave things to find and or get are sweepers and grills and fans. I don't know why, I dont understand it but those are on my wish list each week. Lol, such little things but I could tear these down for hours and days without food, water or sleep.

    Batteries and copper.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Push Mowers, Riding Mowers, pretty much anything with a motor. I can make more parting these things out than taking them straight to the scrap yard.

cast iron. my yard takes ferrous, and since its heavy and far less than non ferrous, it keeps falling in my lap. its a real "bear" to move it sometimes, but its worth it to me, and i dont have to fight over it, and i dont get outbid like olddude was sayin. sometimes i can even charge for removal

I couldn't agree with you more CMHN. I LOVE anything with an engine on it. Mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, etc. I usually find at least one on my excursions. I can usually get them going for cheap and turn around a sell them for FAR more than I would have gotten scrapping them. I also like finding old "man stuff" and car parts.

I like gas grills. 90% of the ones I find have a bunch of cast aluminum. Every now and then you hit one with 50lbs of stainless steel. Other than the mess they can make when loading them, I think I like them the most. And for some reason, water heaters. Most here in Florida are electric. There really is nothing to do other than strip the wire and brass valve. And about half the time they have copper tubing left on them. I get kind of giddy when I see one. I don't find as many as I used to, but large appliances give me the same feeling. Though I must admit, this weekend was pretty good for appliances.

I like fans and vacuums as well. Used to love TV's when I started out but I get so many of em, and they keep on comin in, that I'm gettin kinda tired of doin em. Would definitely like to do and AC unit again.

Anything that can fit in my car and has some weight to it. I generally like new items i have never scrapped before. It’s kind of like a Christmas present. For example this weekend I had a blast taking down a dental centrifuge. Had Cast Aluminum, Brass fittings, a decent sized transistor and some stainless steel. Also had some heating elements I'm not sure how to classify. But it was a good time.

Aluminum conduit with big thick copper wires running all through it. Miles and miles and miles of it. And then I wake up from this beautiful dream.

I like anything I have to take a part. Might not make a lot per hour, but I just like taking things apart to see how they work.

Electronics because they're fun to break down. I also like appliances that are complex and have lots of different parts.
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer
