Cheap way to do the will I guess....short will...If your name is not on it..its not yours.

I had a great aunt that did the same thing...Wife and I went for a visit one day and she asked us to pick out some things that we wanted...Felt a bit creepy to me but it made her feel better. Didn't really matter though because the bills that were left over warranted that everything be sold at auction.
