The new 700,000 btu liquid propane torch will be here sometime this upcoming week,
At full throttle this torch will consume 35 lbs of fuel per hour. Luckily once the furnace is up to temperature I will be able to throttle this puppy down to around 10 lbs an hour.
Just before the flame is a coil where liquid propane is vaporized just before it enters the orifice, using liquid fuel lets you use every ;last drop in the tank without freezing up..
I forget how many times in volume liquid propane expands when heated, I just know this thing is hot. I can not keep up to the melts when I'm casting.
And that is with using an air tamper.
The propane torch is going to fire my home foundry furnace which I use for multiple purposes.
1. cast aluminum objects from scrap aluminum.
2. incinerate computer cpu's and ic's to recover silver and a bit of gold
3. cast various types of anodes for my electro refining cell.
As these winter projects unfold I will post a few pictures now and then.
