    Moving to Washington State finally!!

Well, today I set off to go to WA. First time the army moved me in over 5 years. Been at FT Stewart since I was 17. But it made me realize how bad rush hour traffic is in the ATL area. But I weighed all my stuff before I left like I was suppose to do. I was estimating about 2,000lbs max cause the wife was living with her parents while I was deployed so we had no need to buy furniture, washer/dryer, etc. But anyways, I weighed all my stuff and I had roughly 4200lbs. Guess why? I took all my scrap with me, including the tri-bike. Along with all my copper, aluminium, escrap, a few desktops that I never got around to breaking down, Cisco servers that have a whole lot in them as yall probably know. I didn't realize how much stuff I had till I started packing in and kept finding more things. By the way, I bought a house! With a 2 car garage so I can't wait to have that as my scrapping area. I guess I must've had about 600lbs at the minimum of scrap stuff. Well, thats all for now. Gotta get up early to try and drive 12-14 hours tomorrow. By the way. Thanks for all the help with the escrap (all the threads yall have) I'm not sure how much I have as of now but I guesstimate atleast $500 worth. Couldn't of done it without yall.

Congrats on the move and the house! Why did you have to weigh your stuff?

Im guessing he is doing a self move ine the military. They pay you by the pound like you pay a mover by the pound. They want weigh tickets. I have a friend of a friend who did this when they were in the military. He barrowed all his friends weight sets to get his full weight and got paid an extra 700 bucks for the extra weight. Also knew another guy who did this when he retired and put his car inside the truck.

Thank you attitude. Yeah, that's exactly why we have to weigh it. Use to be only before you leave, empty and loaded but now you gotta weigh it at your final destination cause ppl were cheating the army by adding a lot of weight than taking it off before they leave. But it definitely paid off keeping all my scrap. Anyone here from the spanaway/ft Lewis area?

As soon as I read this I was wondering to myself "I wonder if he's taking the trike..." and then I read that you were and my hopes were dashed. Congrats on the new house. We bought our first almost two years ago and we're loving it. Make sure to check in when you are all set up. I want to make sure the trike arrives safely!

Well, finally all set up here in WA for the most part. Only things missing is a tv and living room set which will have in 2 days. It's a lot different here already but already have a few yard sales and auctions to hit soon to start scrapping again. Hard to believe that I kinda miss tearing things apart and finding stuff.

Thanks for the reminder PartTime. I forgot about that. Things are a lot more expensive here as well. Like gas is about .50 more a gallon and cigarettes are about $3.25 more a pack.

Yeah but now you dont have to worry about the 100 degree 100% humidty summers. But you will have to learn to drive in the snow. Remember turn into the skid.

Yeah, true. Is much nicer here than there. I'm originally from WV near DC so I am use to snow. Gotta say I miss it but I'm sure its different here

Congrats on the move. I'm about 30 min south of the Olympia area.
Watch out for that $30 cash/day for non-ferrous limit when turning all your scrap! Gotta love the meth heads...

How's the prices up here faulguy? Where I'm at in ga they pay .13 cents for steel and about .78 for aluminium cans and 1.25 for wire. Are they about that here?

Just curious. Did you pass through Idaho, or take a different route?
