    Laid off from my job...

Was laid off from my job today after working there almost 4 years. Budget cuts eliminated about 8 of 300 jobs where I work and I got the axe. My coworker who has a slightly higher title than me keeps his job even though I have an ivy league degree and we do about the same job. People who have never met me and have no actual knowledge of what I brought to the organization voted to take my job based solely on job title.

At least I've built a knowledge base about e-scraping and that had helped build a little buffer in the bank account that I'll be putting to good use in the coming months.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

You sound like a very intelligent and very highly motivated person who sees opportunities where many others do not. I'd be surprised if you don't land on your feet.

In front of my TV on the couch... my apartment is always a mess but at least I have a roof over my head and the occasional cold beverage in my hand. Life goes on.

Just get up every day and keep trying. I am glad to hear you are not following the OWS gang. Best to you and keep us posted, Mike.

Consider it a a gift from God. It is their loss. They will realize at some point that firing you and the others was a mistake.
