is that a brand?
Carhartt was the first thing that came to my mind, too. About as good as it gets. http://www.carhartt.com
Carhartt's are the way to go...very easy to over dress tho and you end up a sweaty mess with no chance of drying out till you hit the showers. If possible get non-insulated bibs and insulated overalls and choose based on how cold it is going to be.

"Give them enough so they can do something with it, but not too much that they won't do nothing."
Needless to say it all depends upon what our specific locations are. Yes there is CarrHart, SCHMIDT, HALL etc. I have worked outdoors year-round my entire life and I can say that I have rarely had to take off of work due to bad weather, other than a day or two hear and there during severe winter storms.
I woke up early this morning and the temp. was at 6- degree's above zero, that was the bad news, the good news is that our expected High temp. for today will reach 26 degree's, and tomorrow they are calling for a heat wave.... High of 40.
On days like yesterday and today I wear long-johns, jeans, two pair of good socks, steel-toe boots (Upper Body) T-shirt, Long-sleeve Flannel with a sweatshirt over that, then a hoody and then my CarHart Jacket, gloves and hat and I'm good to go all day long.
I found the perfect solution. A wood stove and staying inside.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
Can't think of what they are called now, but there is shirts that police and construction workers use all the time. They have two versions. One keeps you warm in the winter, and one keeps you cool in the summer. Everyone that I know who has them, SWEARS by them.
One of the places that I have heard carries them is D I C K's Sporting Goods.

Anything you can buy at goodwill. What the point in buying new clothes when you are just going ruin them in a matter of hours or day or weeks. My clothes last maybe two months before they catch on fire or get to many holes in them from burning. During the winter I might wear two pair of long underwear a few shirts, some long sleeved shirts and a few hooded sweat shirts. I don't wear anything that's not 100 percent cotton. During the winter I always look like the michelan man though you can never wear enough clothes better to be to hot then to cold. You can dress for the winter but you can't dress for the summer when its 100 plus out. Hothands work to.
Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.
