    Prayers - please

Might sound a bit odd, even for a off topic discussion area.

However, I would like to ask you all for your prayers. Not sure what is causing the pain, but I am having pain in my chest, near my heart. I am not real worried about it, as this has been going on for years ever since I was a pre-teen. I also know the reason that has caused it all in the past.

However, this has been constant since earlier this afternoon, to the point where it has hurt to breathe a little.

If I am not better in the morning, I am going to the doctor. Also, no one freak out to bad, I am very much used to this. Just haven't experienced it in about 1 1/2 years until today.

    Thanks guys/girls!

Normally, I would agree with you. Like I said though, this has been going on for like ever for me. I am used to it, but normally it is like small blood clots that get stuck, build up, and then push their way through. I think what I did, was bruise my chest some how..not sure how, but that is my guess.

Also, never fails that no matter how many doctors that I see, I always get told something different, or you wait FOREVER that by the time your seen, it all stops and they find nothing.

My wife has been watching me like a hawk lol

To be honest, I am not sure if what I have always had happen to me was small blood clots or not. My ex gf's mother was the one who told me about that. She used to be a nurse or something and knew a few people, including herself with situations like me.

I have what is considered a "caved in chest"....basically how most people's chest bones are straight across, mine is curved in, in the middle. Weird, I know, but that is what I got. The reason for my issues most of the time.

Right now, the area is just really sore, so I am guessing I bruised it...just not sure how.

If it is still this way tomorrow morning, I will be going to see what is causing the pain.

You'll be in my prayers too George, but please quit putting it off and have it checked out. You sound just like I did back in '99 -2000, it'll be fine, I'm ok, just heartburn or something. In 2004 I had triple bypass surgery and believe me, it's not fun! Hope it's nothing serious, but get it checked out anyway.

We're thinking of you up here Geo. but you might talk to your doctor about an aspirin regiment. I think that's an alternative to blood clots,,,

Have you been coughing? If so you could of bruised the lung and or a rib that could cause a huge amount of pain that will last and last for a long amount of time.

Did you get hit in the chest in the last few days? Sometimes it could be a day or two before the pain hits when you bruised the rib.

Well I hope everything is better and you have my prayers.

George, this is nothing to play with. You need to call 911 and go the ER when you have chest pain. You need to see a cardiologist in order to find out what is causing your pain. What caused it before may not be what has been causing it lately. You need to see a specialist, seriously. I used to be a nurse, in fact, for awhile I worked in the cardiac care ICU. Many people have heart attacks and don't even know it - they just show up on an EKG later - if they survive that is. If you smoke, you need to stop now- smoking increases the chances of sudden cardiac death astronomically.

I'm praying for your health. I'm also praying that you will take this seriously and not rest until you have an answer. There are many conditions that cause chest pain - some of which are potentially lethal. You could have a heart rythm disturbance that comes and goes and you may need to wear a monitor for 24 hours ( maybe on more than one occasion) in order to catch it.

My sister has a condition called atrial fibrillation and it took her awhile to be diagnosed because it would come and go- it was never present when she was at the doctor's office. I finally had to drag her to the hospital one night when she was having chest pain (btw she's a nurse too but was afraid) and she started getting the treatment she needed. Atrial fibrillation can lead to blood clots in the heart and can result in a stroke or death if untreated. I'm not saying that is what you have but it is just an example of the kind of thing that causes intermittent chest pain.

You seem like an intelligent man, please think of your family and give this the attention it deserves.

Someone in my family, (dont remember who now), had to have some sort of surgery, and you are right. Not fun. My one cousin that is like a brother to me, has heart issues as well. Destroyed his basketball career. Doctor gave him an ultimatum...either continue with basketball and die, or quit and live. Obviously he choose to live. Now he is doing his second love which is working on cars all the time.

I don't have a doctor. To me, they are like vampires with medical licenses lol. Not trying to be funny, but that is how I have always viewed them. Like I said, I have ALWAYS gotten told something different no matter what doctor or specialist I have seen. The only thing that has come up a few times, was as I mentioned before, was small blood clots, that would build up and then push their way through. To me, the pain would come, when the artery (exploded) to let the blood flow go again.

I will look into an aspirin regiment though. Right now, when I get headaches, I pop about 2 or 3 (depending on how bad it is) of ibuprofen and it is gone with in 10 to 15 minutes.

Yeah, that is what I have been told that I have. Luckily, mine is NOT as bad as that guy in the picture, and mine is not totally noticeable, especially if you don't know that I have it.

A doctor in a free medical clinic here, is the guy who told me about the chest bone in the middle being curved in, and close to my heart.

I have also been told that if I got hit just right, at the right angle, it would kill me, but that has definitely been proven to be wrong, as I have been hit countless times in my chest by various things, and nothing has ever happened.

I don't remember being hit, but then again, that don't mean nothing. It didn't start till yesterday late morning/early afternoon. A friend of mine, needed an extra to help them change out (charcoal air filters) in a hyatt hotel. These filters help to absorb the odor in the air.

They were heavy, but like I said, to my knowledge, I never got hurt.

I have seen, I don't even remember how many specialist. Have been told (irradic heart rhythms), (asthma), (caved in chest), (blood clots), and I don't even remember all the rest.

The asthma and caved in chest, and blood clot, I know for a fact that are there. Funny thing is, I haven't had the blood clots (which is what always caused the pain) in a few hours.

I appreciate the concern, and trust me, if it wasn't for my wife and kids, I probably would just write it off, and let it go. However, they mean the world to me, and I am not prepared to leave them yet, even though they be taken care of. I do plan to have it checked out.

I am not having anymore pains, except for on my left breast area. There is some tenderness there, so I must have bruised it at some point, or it could be something else, but since it is near my heart, I am not trying to play with death.
