Woohoo just walked 9 miles in that same snow. bah humbug I hate christmas
I love snow...let it snow...as long as it melted by the next day... beyond that...it causes alot of issues down here in Dallas as we do not have snow plows and things get real nasty...now I have 4x4 trucks...but even when we got to Walmart...they hardly had anything as there trucks where stuck on the highways and or they would not roll out until the ice/snow melted.....talk about things getting crazy.
Know what you mean Easy, when I lived down in South East Kansas we had a small snowstorm but you could see the grass still peeking thru the snow. I went on in to work like normal and I ended up being the only person there, except for the foreman. Even the people in town called in. I told them that I was from Indiana, this is no snowstorm! lol I lived thru this one, and it was really scarey what mother nature can do,,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blizzard_of_1978
last year we had around 6 or so inchs ON THE ground here in Dallas...on the roads it was around 2 or so inch of ice...it made SPEED bumps lmao. The snow would melt some during the day and then ice up at night and only get thicker and thicker...it was pretty bad...but my Z71 with off road mudding tires did pretty well on the ice...I let some air out and it "dug" down into the ice sluh and found road.
I made good money tho...I was pulling people out and not charging to do so...but most people would pay me anyway....so I used that to buy fuel and a longer tow chain so people who where REALLY in the ditch I can drag out very easily....my rule tho...you put the chain on your OWN car..I would tell you where a good idea to put it..but you placed it where you wanted to so if any damaged happen...they placed it there..not me. Anyway...I hope it dose not snow like that this year..my one ton diesel wont be able to go anywhere as its a 2wheel drive.
Here in central NY we normally get hit hard this time of year... yesterday it was 55 out! I'm loving this weather. Too many memories from when I was a kid of getting multiple feet of snow overnight and school not even closing.
I grew up south of Buffalo and the Weather Channel used to setup and do live reports on the snow about a block from my highschool because the weather was so insane. I believe we average a little over 20 feet of snow per year where I grew up.
We havent had ANY snow yet here this year...which is weird. Just clear and COLD COLD COLD. Last year in 1 storm i think we got 9 inches? Which is pretty high. I do remember, back when i was, maybe 6? We got like 1.5 feet. Pops was sayin that's how our winters here in Idaho used to be.
It's weird that we aint got any yet.
My ole 2 wheel drive '73 ford aint gonna like the snow. But my '85 ford bronco with big ole meaty tires and 4 wheel drive sure does.
I'm surprised we haven't gotten snow either. When it does I'll get to try out the 4wd.
it is snowing here now , we expect 3 or 4 inches

Merry Christmas to everybody, but you can have the snow. I plowed snow for 19 years, and hate the stuff. You start out loving the income, but you get over that.
Back in the 50's this weekend and next week.
My mom just called me and told me to turn on The Weather Channel. They were setup across the street from my house, apparently my home town is getting hit the hardest in the nation right now. They did about a 5 minute spot and then interviewed my 13 year old nephew on live TV because he happened to ride by on his snowmobile. They showed a pile of snow that was about 3 stories high that wasn't there yesterday.
