Christmas family get together yielded a list of ''Wantsies'' lol

So at Christmas dinner get together scrapping of course came up and I got a bunch of ''If you ever run across any of these'' requests. One was for reindeer of which I had taken probably a whole truckload in, I could have given auntie a whole team! My neighbor across the street also gave a request. It's funny because some of this stuff isn't scrap per say but something that I of course had passed a lot of while out and about. If only I knew ya know? Because of course now that I have the requests I probably won't run into any of this stuff now because they want it!!! I have though, picked up a ton of stuff for my niece who will think she is in a toy store when she is about 2 or 3 years old, lots of Little Tykes and similar items - slides, cars, etc. My moms basement is filling up!!

Have you ever gotten requests from friends or family to ''Be on the lookout'' for?

    Yes, mainly for working appliances.

Also for TV (see them all the time on Craigslist, and not the small ones either, the BIG screen TV's).

Some of the TV's have one or two minor issues, but there is a few that work 100%...just downsizing etc.

I also get requests just for anything still useable lol.

I get alot of those requests too, sad thing is I get them after I just saw one about a week ago. Once I'm on the lookout, I never find what they want. Right now I'm watching for an old wooden barrel they want to use as a rain barrel *sigh* I don't expect to find one, but ya never know!

Oldest daughters sweeper went up in smoke right before Christmas so I went out to the drop off pile beside my garage and dug out an almost brand new Bissel sweeper and cleaned it out and it worked great for her.

I did a funny "used gift exchange", it was cool because my sister took the electric weed-whacker and really needed one.
My brother got a charcoal grill, his had got stolen, etc. etc.

Then my Brother-in-law asked for me to look out for a "microwave, toaster, and electric skillet" for somebody at his church...
funny thing: I found all three on the same day soon after.

...Now they must all RESPECT THE "DUMPSTER- DIVER"!!! Muhahaha muhahaa!!!

I have a request for a 300w+ power supply I'm looking for and some RAM I have to deliver. I get computer part requests all the time and have someone who buys any ornate cast iron stuff I get. I write down the name and number of everyone, plus what they want. I'm working on getting a dry erase board for this

we really need a barter/want ad section for this forum. With as many trash pickers as we have on this forum im sure we could find everything we ever wanted between us all. Exspecialy computer related stuff.

I'm always getting asked for stainless steel appliances and working vending machines. Need to start plugging things in before they go to the scrap yard!

For me it's been stoves and fridges. My youngest son (11) is always asking for basketballs, footballs, and scooters. I bring him all that more.
