The Simple things in life bring me the most pleasure sometimes. The other day when I was updating, editing and renewing Craigslist posts I noticed it was skipping the Captcha step, I thought it might be fluke but today same deal. No biggie for some I'm sure, but those things could easily make my PO list cuz half the time I'm guessing at the letter and it eats up time when your working with 30-50 adds at any given time. Anyone else notice this?

Yea I had to change the code sometimes 2-3 times and it's a serious PITA.

So you use the repost function on the active ones, to move them back up to #1?
There is 2 companies here that do kind of what I do, but mainly just junk stuff. Anyway, you see between 10 to 20 ads a day from them. All similar post content, except for the title of the post.

Yes George, I would repost every 48 hours to get back on top. Almost all of my posts are for items I am selling so when I repost I might adjust the price or wording and that would bring the Captcha deal into play.
I play around with time of day I post to try and hit peak times when people are surfing like Monday mornings can be hot or lunch time or Sat/Sun mid morning.
I went to post an ad, I hit continue and it showed that my post had posted.
???
Thought I had a senile moment as I didn't remember putting the captcha in. Did another ad and sure enough, no more captcha!
I can't find anything on CL as to why they did away with it but I won't complain.
BTW there were times I couldn't tell what 1 of 2 words was, so I put in one of them and it accepted it anyways.

try to renew them right before midnight, what that does is make you the top one on the list for that day as long as no one adds a post or renews after you. it creates a visual buffer (space) say you do it tonight tomorrow being monday yours would be the top one on sunday rather than just being mixed in with all the others , anyway seems to work for me

Good idea cory but I have a tough time keeping my eyes open by about 930-10.
Have had some Chinese or Japanese letters come up on occasion...still looking for that part of the keyboard.

just a thought they don't have those numbers to input when posting an add just when you respond to them.

Yes i too have noticed the captcha not appearing in the listing menu anymore...Whew! what a relief, I LOVE IT!

That is the same way with me as well. I will post early in the morning, around lunch time, and in the evenings.
I have had that happen as well. Not the best system in place, and even better now that it is GONE!
