    craigslist backdoor acting up

Okay, is it just my account, or is anyone else noticing this?

When I logged on this morning, I clicked on "renew" for 5 of my ads, and without fail, when it went to the next screen, it said that the ad had expired, even though it hadn't.

So I thought "no big deal", so preceding to renew/reactivate them.

That is when the surprise came in....they are now showing 5 active/renewed ads, and then right underneath is showing the same ads with titles and everything as expired?

I am going to guess that maybe this is some tech issue with craigslist, but is anyone else experiencing this?

Well, I know my ads are definitely active on the site, but I have also experienced the "ghosts" ads as well in the past. I am ever so happy those ended!

My list of adds has always included current, deleted and expired adds even if they are the same.

Just like when you first post an add it takes about 15 minutes for it to update/renew and go live at the top of the list, it's not real-time. One problem I have experienced is customers looking at an add they saved by emailing to themselves, if the add has been updated or even deleted and they don't refresh their browser, it will be inaccurate.

No problems here. What I do so I don't get as many spammers is hide the CL for my email and type my email and number in so I don't get as many spammers. But I use one email for my CL account and another for business and sometime people get mad and I guess and send me a email to my business email saying my CL account is suspended and I just chuckle.

I do almost the same thing myself.

I mainly use image ads that I created and host either on my own server, or on photoshop. Since it includes contact information, I don't put it anywhere in the ads such as title or body etc.

The CL email annoymous link is total crap. You get more spam that way than anything! I also don't ever use any contact number, as I get telemarketing calls and other calls wanting to show me how to earn $$$$ every day.

mine was acting up yesterday too - it showed several deleted ads as active (ads I killed over a week ago), but when I searched for them they weren't on the site. Really weird.
