    anurism up date:

did some more cat scans yesterday, was at the DR. office all dam* day 8 am till 4:30.
found a secound one below the first one. I go in a week from friday. the first one they will use a stent that looks like a pair of pants and fix it. the secound one however they will have to cut a piece of the artery out and replace it with a new section or, streach the artery and sew it back together, which ever.

aparently not as dangerous as it sounds. but what ever. just an up date for those who want to know. thanks for all your good wishes. MW

the good news and the bad news: i'm not missing much, the compitition is gettin fierce here, and things are really slow.

Best wishes for your speedy recovery, olddude.

I nursed my mom after two different aneurysm repairs. The first was an abdominal surgery and it was quite a long recovery. She had a huge incision that got infected, she took weeks to come out of the post-anasthesia confusion.

The second was three years later It was near her heart and they went in through a blood vessel in her groin and repaired it that way. She had to have a preliminary surgery before the repair and they had to go back in afterwards to fix a small leak. So - three procedures in all with the second aneurysm.

But the recovery from the second repair was much easier than the first. The technology had advanced so much in just three years. It was really amazing the difference between the two. No infections, no confusion. It was much better. Mom was in her seventies and she lived for two years after that and died from an unrelated cause.

Hopefully, you will get the full benefit of the new procedures, olddude and be back in the swing of things before long!

I don't believe in luck but I do believe in prayer. Remember all things are posible to those that believe. Hay while your in the hospital why not try to get some scrap med. equipment, they have some high grade boards in them.
