I like this thread. It is very animated. I have enjoyed reading it.
Kris Kringle,
I understand your point. However, using a cutting torch is not that simple. Using a cutting torch efficiently is even more difficult. You probably know this and I am not trying to stir the pot with you.
Cutting big "Iron" is not something just anybody can do, and for that I respect what Pistone does. I have done a fair amount of burning. Mostly for myself though. I have done work for others, and while it was good "winter work" I would not enjoy doing it for long. It gets to be too much of a job. I scrap, not because I can't find a job, but because I enjoy it. I think alot do it for that reason.
I agree with your response to his attitude. Not a very professional attitude. What "Industrial" prices have to do with working in a yard I don't understand. Pro burners are paid by the ton. A fraction of what the yard is getting. They will not go broke putting money into anyone's pocket.
Pistone,
There is alot better places to get smug. You come off like quite a jerk expressing yourself the way you do. Remember, the internet is open for EVERYBODY to see. Does your mouth say the same things as your fingers? If so, well, that's your problem. If you don't like reading threads about
Escrap don't read them. Simple as that. If you don't like newb questions, dont answer them or don't even read them.
I apologize for any and all for hurt feelings. There is a form you can fill out at the front desk.
