Recycling things other than e-wast or metals

Is thiere anybody that recycls other things besides metal or e-wast. I thought I would list a few things that I sell to be recycled. Clothes,shoes,belts,purses, books both hard backs and paper backs, magazines and phone books. I don't make alot of money off these but I come across them all the time so I take them. (free money) and they add up fast. I get $.07 lb for clothes $.10 lb dor shoes,belts and purses. Only get$.02 lb for books and magazines. The place I sell them to sell gaylords of ecetronics/small appliances at $.10 lb so I basicly trade the clothes and books for electronics. I am looking into hauling cardboard and also selling my ABS plastic. Should know something this week I'll let you all know what I find out.

You found someone to buy shoes?

10-4 good buddy this place buys shoes,clothes,belts and purses. they send them to third world contries. Some of the clothes they make industrial rags out of. Like I said in other post almost everything can be recycled.

Plastics are my problem. I generate a lot (for my storage capacity) and have to pay 1 cent/lb to dispose of it. Looking for a local place to get rid of it for free, let alone getting paid for it.

Plastics can be good money but they want 40,000lbs at a clip. Storage of that much is tough. I dealt with a company in White Plains, NY for plastics. I cant remember the name now and that bugs me but they came to you anywhere in the country and picked yo a truckload if you can store that much. They paid fast too and were very good with they're price. Now if I could only remember that name. If I remember it I'll post it here.

how far are you from the GA line...maybe I better bring a truck load down there ! Esp if you find a place for
ABS !

Hey!! happyscraper here, I checked on cardboard price where I live, only bay $65 a ton, not realy werth it for me. Going to check on a plastic buyer tomarrow but I think they will want 30,000 to 40,000 lbs. Would take me about a year to save up that much plus have no place to store it. I have a plastic recycler now but he dosn't buy it, just takes off my hands. If anybody knows of a plastic buyer in the tampa bay area please let me know. I will keep you posted as to what I find out on this thread.

I was trying to find a cardboard recycler here in the bay area but no luck as of yet.

Have you looked into possibly re-selling the gaylords? Up here, used ones go for $10 each, and the demand is quite a bit greater than the supply.
