    The Many Changes

Well here I be....My apologies for not hanging out here recently...I am sure that I owe everyone on the board at least one PM or email LOL....We have been so busy and making so many changes that being on the net has been a 10 minute thing at night before I collapse into bed.

First an update on my Dad....He recently underwent a minor surgical procedure so he could do his dialysis at home. This entailed him having a tube implanted into his stomach area. The surgery went fine and he just had to wait for it to heal so he could begin. When the day finally arrived he went to his first training session where they would show him how to do the dialysis at home which entailed him filling up with a bag of special fluid, leaving it sit for a while and then draining it back out...Long story short they put the fluid in and it would not come back out. So off to the emergency room they sent him....By the time they took him back he was not able to breath because the fluid was building up in his lungs....So for the past week he has been in the hospital with a bunch of doctors standing around scratching their heads as to why the fluid was not draining. Finally they decided to do another surgery to see what was going on. Come to find out his bowel was wrapped around the tube inside and he was full of infection. They fixed the bowel issue and now they are just waiting until the infection is cleared up so he can go home.

Anyway, we have made some big time changes to the company and how things will operate....

While we have been enjoying some massive success in the e-scrap department we decided it was time to expand our horizons so to speak...So we have reorganized our company and on April 2nd we will officially open a scrap yard at our location. This yard will still purchase all e-scrap but also all non-ferrous scrap metal as well as batteries and so on. Along with that we have aligned ourselves with an automotive core buyer to add additional services to our list.

We would like to be able to buy heavy metals (tin, steel, iron, etc) but it is just not in the cards at this moment. The cost of installing and purchasing a ground scale and the equipment to move such material is prohibitive at this time. But that may be something that we consider for the future once we have established ourselves in the community for scrap purchasing.

The company name will change to 3D Recycling Inc. as well. The Wastenot E-Cycling name will remain as our online buying division.

Getting this all setup has been a massive headache and quite expensive to say the least. Certified scales are expensive but they are necessary and all the other little things that just seem to pop up. Did find a great deal on a skid steer though so we are taking the good with the bad.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Again I am sorry for not posting for a while. Hopefully things will calm down a bit soon so I can spend more time on the board.

So you are saying you can't afford a 100,000 dollar scale and 500,000 a piece for a material handler with a grapple and one with a magnet. WTF. I thought you were a millionaire. Just messing with you. Good Luck though I hope you don't have much competition where you are at because they aren't going to stand around and wait for you to take there customers. Post some of your prices I am just curious as to what they are. Thanks and once again good luck. I have thought about opening my own yard myself but I want to save a half million before I do it and I want to do it in Mobile, AL not where I am currently at.

I hope your dad recovers 100 percent I have a good friend who is currently going through the same kinda thing with his father. I feel for you.

Best of luck to your Dad and for your new endeavor. I just got an email this morning about this scale: http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa...49&acctid=3527Maybe it's something you or one of the other yard owners can get a bargain on.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

I have no doubt that there will be glitches and plenty of them. We did a dry run on Friday to see how things would work and came up with some ideas on how to streamline the operation. There is so much to keep up with when you deal with the non-ferrous scrap metal. I am sure that opening day is going to be a nightmare big time. We only have one other yard in our area so the competition is light. We already picked up a couple of the local scrappers who have agreed to sell to us. They are the major players in the game so that will help us get our feet wet.

Dad comes home tomorrow thankfully...The doc came in this morning and said that the culture came back and he had a staph infection but they have been filling him to the teeth with antibiotics all week and they are confident that they have knocked it out. He will do his dialysis treatment at the hospital in the morning and then head home.

No worries, I will get them posted this week. I have all of that at the shop and do not have access to it from home. The last thing I want to do is quote a wrong price lol....
