Two tracking softwares follow you @ scrapmetalforum

In case you did not know. One is facebook the other is Google. Hard to escape google but I was surprised about facebook. Big deal?? Prolly not.........didja know?? Prolly not. With googles "new" info sharing policy that will be coming into effect it might become a bigger deal later.

    Just a FYI......

Neither are anything to be scared of...

Google is simply the indexing bot for search engine listings

    AND

Facebook is linked to the facebook "like" feature using facebook connect.

Both harmless and on almost every forum, just VB software identifies them to all whereas some forums do not...

May be harmless but still freaks me out a little bit when all of a sudden some product I've searched starts showing up on the other pages I go to.

If you use firefox you can install the add on Do Not Track Plus and see what's watching you from any site, as well as block it. As for them being harmless, maybe.. maybe not, but certainly there are vbulliten forums that have both google and facebook likes, yet there is NO tracking shown. Google is currently taking flak for their new policy regarding privacy........which they say is OK, lol.

what i gathered of the new Google privacy policy was that each division of google, gmail, search, dadgumit, i can't recall all they've got, was merely going to converge their user agreements and profiles. In my case, only using google search, no gmail etc, they don't don't have 4 different profiles of me anyway
