200 Liquor Stores For Sale WA state

I was checking out the public surplus site for Washington State and there is a new category called Business Opportunities and about 200 Liquor Stores for sale. I do believe the inventory is included in the bid price. Happy bidding

With 200 stores closing I'm thinking some metal recycling opportunities coming up.

What Are the Winners Options?
The winning bidder shall have the following options;

In the event the winning bidder is unable to reach agreement with the landlord, they may request the relocation of the right to another address within one (1) radius mile of the state store location. The new location would be subject to jurisdictional comment.

Purchase all remaining inventory in the store as of the close of business on May 31, 2012 at a special discounted price of cost less $7.97 per case. Bidder would be required to obtain a spirit retail license in order to purchase the inventory.

I checked the site and the 167 stores they had listed generated 64 million in net profit. I wonder how many revenue producing jobs were lost?

A liquor licence is very expensive, It could cost 100,000. dollars to stock a store, And you have to be in a good location to turn a profit. In WA a lot of 6% Alcohol beer is sold right in the grocery stores. So really no need to get your beer at a liquor store unless you want the hard core liquor also. That's probably why their is a lot of stores for sale. Someday all grocery stores will sell it all pushing out the little mom and pop stores.
