Need dryer timer

Hey guys and gals. You got any whirpool dryers ya scrapping out? Pm me. Im looking foir a timer part number m460 - g or 014 - 66276. I will buy it from. Ebay is way too expensive. Fixing this for myself, so dont kill me on price lol. Can pay up front or when reprieved by personal check or money order. Be real sweet if your close to Scranton, Pa as well as I can pick up in person. Should be the same between electric and gas, not sure. The m number is the most important.

Wow cool guys. Whoever finds it in their loot is da man. This dryer is in pristine condition even know their is a slight thump when the drum is rotating. Must have had something heavy and bent the the tub, but it is the only dryer that I bought to scrap and saved it lol. So appreciate the help. Been needing the dryer since I moved into my trailer I bought. Really appreciate it.

You know they should put a buy/sell section in it. It always seem like scrappers like you and me have what others need parts wise.

Hell I need a thermocouple for gas wall heater. I knew I had one. Sure enough I stumbled on it, brand new in the package. Saved me 20 bucks lol.

that dryer bump is probly like the parts mine needs, it's like a rebuild kit, about $30 i think it was, if i can ever get to appliance parts

Sounds tome that the gliders are worn, after the thumping quits and turns into a grinding noise your woman will complain that her whites are getting a black smudge on them. This will be the fine metal powder coming off the drum as it wears.

The original glides are nylon strips, I purchased a sheet of teflon then cut it into strip for replacemnt glides, if you want to PP me postage I will send you enough stips to repair your dryer. Same offer applies to Bear, $3.00 outa cover it.

The Inglis/Kenmore dryers require a different glide kit that is glued in place unless they changed this over the years.

As for the timer, if your trying to repair on the cheap, find another dryer and swap out the top consul complete with timer you may gain or loose some dryer options.

Thump is probably the drum rollers, they wear out of round after awhile, common Whirlpool problem.

I just bought a rebuild kit for my "thumper" in the basement for a little under $20, came with the belt, rollers, and idler pulley.

The thumping I could've lived with, but the belt started slipping just recently, so I figured I'd just put on the kit.

Rollers at the rear of the drum seldom go, the plastic glides located at the front of the drum are the first to wear out. The kit consists of new plastic glides and new felt with a tube of contact cement.

dang! i was gonna take you up on that, i think all mine needs are the glides, but i just went and looked, it's a frigidare

I'll check them, I've taken apart a few for belt replacements with flat spots on the wheels, all Whirlpool. Maybe not "worn out" per say, but the noise difference when you replaced them was sure notable.

Don't even get me started about Whirlpool's tension "slide" on the Ropers.

Find a like new Roper? Pop the top and see if it shredded the belt, replace belt, check for slide, replace slide with wheel or put a new belt on again in a few months.

When ever your dryer is in need of repair, vacuumm out the lint then reverse the flow on your vacuum to blow the motor free of lint. Add a few drops of lube onto the motor bearings which are oilite bushings. Any lint previously present acted as a wick sucking the oil from the bushing.

Same thing on those rear drum roller wheels - oil lite bushings, lint sucks them dry. A little bit of preventive maitinace can extend the life of your appliance.
