Yea, I'm shocked that it did not come as far south as they where thinking. We only had light rain and good winds so other than some broken tree limbs we got off easy.

Anytime someone gets round here gets tornado damage half the county shows up to help em out, been to several to help out. even for ppl I'm not chill with or know that well because you never know when it could be you

Welcome to the new normal...according to analysis from the Earth Simulator Computer in Japan (one of the most powerful in the world that collates/predicts weather events) every 1 degree Centigrade increase in your latitudinal zone (every 20 degrees) leads to an 8 % increase in hydrology (storms frequency and severity) and a 22 % increase in wind speed! We had a 140 mph blast in Westcliffe..that is 9000 ft high in January!!

I have a bad feeling that it's going to be a bad year as far as storms go, they have hand held storm warning radios available now that kinda looks like a handheld scanner. Might come in handy when your out scrapping. Once it's programmed and you have your county/'s locked in, it will automatically alert you when the weather service sets off their alarms. Kinda like this, I think it's cheap insurance.
You can legally carry this in a vehicle when it's illegal to carry a scanner in most states. I'm not recommending these but just wanted people to see whats available, maybe even cheaper on Flebay.

Doppler radar maps are always helpful to track storms, but another new and very neat website is the live wind map (much cooler than it sounds). It helps me to make a little more accurate predictions for where storms are likely to move to. Probably not for the dialup folks.
